Hello, everyone! This is a new feature of the Williamson School Newspaper this year. I am hoping that whoever takes over for me next year will continue this, making our newspaper more accessible and public.
Natalli Bogart did a good job keeping Newspaper Club going, and we definitely miss her spirit.
This year, I am hoping for more non-fiction submissions. Interviewing people in our community and reporting on local events and school functions will help bring the community together. Important dates and recognitions should all be located in our newspaper.
Although this is more journalism-based this year, there is always room for fiction. Short stories, poems, comics, and artwork will still be featured.
I will also be asking teachers to put whatever they feel necessary into each edition. I feel it is important to include all levels of school faculty and the student body in order to spread the word and unite as a school!
Many people are shocked to find out there even is a newspaper in the High School. This is because there has been a lack of structure and importance pinned on Newspaper Club. After this year, I am hoping this "shock" will have subsided.
Check here for more information and meeting dates.
Thank you!
